Even Though we have a knowledge in taking photos, we still want a professional to do it for us, especially when we have a special event like wedding. But the question is, what it really takes to be a skilled wedding photographer?

Skilled photographers are costly

Sure you want to save on your wedding, but some expenses are vital, especially a wedding photographer, some would just rely on the guests to take the photos and simply get everyone to dropbox them the photos. Explanation Why Is it Costly?

Skilled photographers are costly mainly because of their invested time, talent and treasure. A single camera unit will cost you P60,000 to P100,000 depending on the kind of unit and brand, plus the lenses, batteries, flash are sold separately and the presets that are being used to edit and enhance your photos. They are also investing time to learn and enhance the important skills needed for them to produce a remarkable photo.

Here are the top 5 skills that you should know in order for you to be a good wedding photographer.

Good in Poses

For your subject to look good, you must know how to look for the right angle of your client. Although some of us today do it effortlessly, still we want the best pose that suits your client’s personality as a whole. At first, try searching and observing poses on how they do it to their clients and be creative as you go along.

Has an eye for a light.

We all know that light has an important role when taking pictures whether it be natural light or studio set up lights, you definitely have to learn about the right amount of lighting. If you want to achieve a light, bright and airy picture, you need to deal with natural lightings, shoot at golden hours, choose light backgrounds, find even lights. When it comes to dark and moody, you have to deal with the wide range of aperture on your lens, shoot in low light, convert to black and white.

Your photos has a story to tell

Some of us were familiar in documenting photos, and simply taking pictures of people, but in order for your client to savor the moments each time they go back and browse their photos, there should be a strong opening shot that will stop people and hold them in the story from start to finish.

Can handle unexpected situations

First of all you should embrace the fact that there are situations that to fail to meet our hopes. When you are caught in a poor weather or an obstructed view, creativity can mean the difference between a keeper and a memory card full of duds. Having the discipline to wait it out can be extraordinarily rewarding. But of course there will be unhappy couple that has a lot of complaints about your work. To handle those kinds of situations, you must take time and be calm, be prepared with a proposed solution and choose a more personal communication and listen to their thoughts attentively.

Can show the character of his subject

Get to know them well, find out what are the activities that the couple love to do, and where they are most relaxed. It should be naturally taken. Or you may ask them to move around and create some natural moments while capturing fun and energetic photos.
